Art Conservation
Established in 1907, the fine art conservation studio at Lowy has a long history of preserving works of art. The painting and paper conservation studios treat works of art from all periods from Old Masters to Contemporary.
Lowy’s experts have treated works by the world’s most celebrated artists, including French Impressionists such as Renoir, Monet and Degas; American Painters and Illustrators such as Sargent, Chase, Rockwell and Parrish; Nineteenth Century American Landscape painters including Church, Cole and Bierstadt; and Twentieth Century masters such as O’Keeffe, De Kooning and Rothko.
At Lowy, the original intent of the artist is first and foremost. We are committed to the preservation of art using principles of minimal invasion employing the most advanced materials and techniques. All materials utilized offer long-term stability and are easily reversible and compatible with the original artwork.
